From the time he was in high school in his native Bakersfield, Dave knew he wanted to be a CPA. His first job was in 1959 as a part-time bookkeeper for a swimming pool contractor. From there, Dave graduated from UCLA and went on to work with two of the “Big 8” CPA firms in Los Angeles. “I moved to San Luis Obispo to get away from business travel obligations and the bustle of Los Angeles so that I could spend more time with my family,” Dave says. He began working for Glenn Burdette and, just 17 months later, became the firm’s director for more than 20 years.
After working for years as an auditor, Dave’s current role is primarily to prepare personal income tax returns. He is known for his thorough work ethic combined with an easygoing and interactive manner with clients.
When not at work Dave enjoys time with his wife, children and 10 grandchildren as well as watching a good NFL game on Sunday afternoons. He is also a busy volunteer as head usher at his church and his leadership with a number of small non-profit organizations. Dave’s words of wisdom include, “Be honest and keep your word.”
