Anne Blythe
Principal
The daughter of Irish immigrants who eventually settled in San Luis Obispo, Anne is a longtime local; a graduate of Cal Poly; and a seasoned CPA. Her clients include large, multigenerational families who have unique business interests. Anne enjoys taking on large, complex projects and breaking them down into smaller, much more manageable parts. She also appreciates the teamwork aspect of Glenn Burdette, and the willingness of colleagues to share their strengths. “One person can no longer be the expert in everything pertaining to our current tax law, so it is essential to surround ourselves with talented and skilled professionals,” she says.
Anne’s primary passions outside of work include spending time with her husband, two grown daughters and grandchildren, as well as riding her horse, Quinn. “Recreation with my horse is vital – it forces me to get out of the office and into the outdoors where some of my best thinking takes place,” Anne says. “The human-horse bond is magic, and it is healing. It strengthens the body; it comforts the soul.”
Horsemanship is something that her entire family enjoys together. “I have many fond memories of spending time with my daughters on the back of a horse or a pony, and now that the third generation is also pony-crazy, I look forward to many more.”
Anne’s father taught her that any goal is obtainable with a little hard work and dedication.
Anne is fond of this Winston Churchill quote: “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.”
