Daniel J. O’Hare

Dan’s first job as a newspaper boy seems to have set the tone for his career. “I wasn’t old enough, but I begged the circulation manager for a route,” he says. Evidently, it went well, because Dan was eventually honored as the State of California’s Newspaper Boy of the Year at a lunch where then California Senator Alan Cranston presented him with the award.

With a solid background in tax accounting, Dan also enjoys tackling succession planning, human resources and leadership development. He is interested in helping clients see their future from a retirement perspective and loves to creatively solve complex problems. “My clients would say that I am not a stereotypical accountant,” he says.

Dan, who grew up in Porterville, studied business administration at the University of Notre Dame before beginning his career with one of the “big eight” accounting firms at the Ernst and Whinney Fresno office. He always loved the coast, however, and so when a position opened up at Glenn Burdette, Dan was thrilled to move to San Luis Obispo.

Passionate about golf and running, Dan also invests time with the local Rotary Club and the Family Care Network’s 10k run. Keeping a positive and humorous outlook on life is important to him. “My dad’s motto was ‘work hard, play harder,’” he says. “I try to live my life in this way.”
