Rachel Carscaden
Principal
Rachel has a knack for maintaining a calm, dedicated focus during stressful and busy times. She enjoys taking complex situations and making them easy for clients to understand. She is truly interested in the people and businesses behind the tax return, and feels that getting to know her clients is key in helping her recommend the best strategies for their unique situations and goals.
A San Luis Obispo native, Rachel graduated from Cal Poly and then launched her public accounting career in the San Francisco Bay Area before eventually landing a position at Glenn Burdette. Her expertise lies in partnership and corporate income taxation as well as tax compliance and planning for individuals and closely held businesses. Her specialties include agriculture, real estate, manufacturing and professional services.
“I have found working in a small community focused town to be so much more rewarding than a big city,” Rachel says. This extends to her home life in the hamlet of Santa Margarita, where she and her family enjoy a vibrant and caring community brimming with neighborhood barbecues and festivities.
An extremely active person, Rachel is often found riding bikes with her daughters, practicing yoga or documenting her life through pictures, all amid the beauty of the Central Coast.
Rachel is all for a good office prank, challenge, or dare – anything to have fun while working!
Rachel has a history of volunteering for Rotary club of SLO Daybreak, the SLO Chamber and the SLO County Community Foundation.
